The Hoi An Communal House, also named Ong Voi Communal House (Giant Elephant House), is well known for its being holy and sacred.

In front of the yard are two impressive elephant statues. The communal house worships the Village God and River Gods i.e.Dai Can Quoc gia Nam Hai (Southern China Sea God), Goddess of the Thu Bon River, Bach Tho God (White Soil God), Kim Tinh (Venus God), Lady Bo Bo, Lady Phuong Chao, etc.
